The 4onthefloor is the premiere stompin' blues band. Gabe Douglas and James Gould played together in various rock groups in college at Duluth. After college, they both found themselves living in the same great city of Minneapolis and decided they had to start a band. They had enough of the plethora of screaming metal heads and mind-numbing emo bands on the scene. 4onthefloor was born in the bottom of a bourbon bottle with the idea that it’s F’ing time to have some fun and make great music too. It started out as a side project between the other bands Gabe and James were in, and wasn’t fully functional until Chris Holm and Mark Larson joined the group on bass and drum kit respectively. Audiences immediately took to the infectious driving feel of not one, but four bass drums pulsing to the beat of the music. Music inspired from the gutsy stomp of the Delta Blues and the hoe-downs from America’s past and present. While 4onthefloor prides themselves on their original songs, they also love putting their signature stomp on covers from the likes of Wilco to Tom Jones. This makes 4onthefloor one of the most entertaining bands on the Minneapolis music scene today.
