Thank you for your support of the Zach Sobiech Osteocarcoma Research Fund. To date you have helped to raise over $871,000 to find a cure for child cancer. Nearly $300,000 of the money raised came from music downloads.
When faced with months to live, how do you say good-bye?
Zach Sobiech, 17, from Lakeland, Minn. is doing it the best way he knows how - through the songs he has written for his family and friends.
Diagnosed in 2009, Sobiech has battled a rare bone cancer called Osteosarcoma, which afflicts children. In May of this year, he was told that the cancer had spread and there are no more known effective treatment options available.
His farewell song, 'Clouds', inspired by his girlfriend and written for his family and friends, has struck a chord in hundreds of thousands across the world who have heard it. This heartfelt and gut-wrenching song will undoubtedly be played as a backdrop to many good-byes going forward. Sobiech's amazing attitude through his adversity is a true inspiration.
Through a partnership with KS95, a Twin Cities-based radio station, Zach achieved one of his dreams of writing and recording this song in a studio with professional musicians.
Per the Sobiech families wishes, Rock the Cause a registered nonprofit organization donates all net proceeds from the sale of the “Largest Clouds Choir Holiday Version” single to the Zach Sobiech Osteocarcoma Research Fund, after deducting 10% of the total net to assist with Rock the Cause's administrative and program costs.
